You’re not using the power of the RSS Feed yet are you?

We see this image almost everyday whilst browsing the internet but are you using your own RSS feed to it’s fullest extent?

If you’ve got a blog/website then you should be utilizing this once famous feature! RSS or Really Simple Syndication Feed is basically a feed of all posts and information from your website/blog etc. Everytime you update your site your feed updates whoever and whatever is linked up to it. This is where the underated power of the RSS Feed emerges…mwhahaha!!!! well not quite but it still is quite a handy little trick.

You see once you submit your feed to certain sites then it’s done. It’s not like social bookmarking, back linking or content creation which are ongoing, Submitting your RSS Feed once done is done for good. And that little feed will keep on working for you! Long after you’ve forgotten about him..

Here it is, as simple as the really simple feed itself! Submitting your feeds to various place WILL help your listings in Google, Yahoo, Bing etc!

So why haven’t you done it yet?

Time to do it right now, first cab off the rank is Feedagg.com

Feedagg is great site to submit your feed too. You will need to sign up (obviously to stop spammers and abusers of this great service)

Once signed up Feedagg as well as allow you to submit your lovely RSS Feed. It will also allow you to add up to 100 tags. As Internet Marketing people you should know tags are very important and like keywords allow better searching and indexing of your site(s).

Ok Next stop is RSS Micro..

RSS Micro is a handy sites because you don’t need to sign up. Make sure you bookmark the URL in your browser and any new sites you create chuck your feed into it. You don’t need to worry about your name or email address it’s all optional at RSS Micro so no excuses put in your RSS Feed(s). It doesn’t have the tagging benefit of Feedagg but is quick and simple.

Final spot for this article is Pingoat.

Pingoat.net is a bit different! Not only does it automatically submit your RSS Feed to numerous sites, it also pings your site/blogs so well. So the, I don’t know, 60 seconds time it takes to put your sites details in is well worth it!!! No excuses here people get to putting in those Feeds.

But my site doesn’t have an RSS Feed!

Well fear not because you can actually create an RSS Feed out of a static page with Dapper.net. That’s right a sales page, affiliate offer, any page on the entire internet you can create a nice RSS Feed to submit t the RSS Submitting sites and getting that little extra bang for the Search Engine Rankings.

Social Bookmarking Part 1: 8-point Guide to Get Quality Links to Your New Website

If you are the owner or webmaster of a newly created website, or if your current website lacks the popularity you think it may deserve,  then you should have a bit of a look at the following 8-point guide, which will show you how to get more valuable traffic to your website as well some good back link sources this is internet marketing 101:

1. Use high PR (authority) websites like Wikipedia to generate traffic to your website. But remember that quality content is king on such websites, so do not try to spam them or find them as quick solutions. Wikipedia is no follow so for the google search engine bot it won’t count towards PageRank. This will be strictly a human only traffic and people can spot spam very easily these days. Aim to become part of the community and your links will look less like spam and more like a valuable contribution.

2. Try joining a few niche relevant forums and become an active member. You may some software to remember all the names and passwords but I’d recommend using the same ones ideally a word or phrase that is the same as your main keyword(s) if available. Some forums do not allow you to place links in your messages unless they are really valuable forums try to avoid them as they will bring little benefit. So many people have tried spamming forums in the past so if your link dropping is spammy it will be cut pretty quickly and you could potentially be banned. All that work wasted! So remember a little bit does a lot.

3. Start blogging. If you know a bit about your niche then write about it! Google loves fresh content so why not write it yourself. It doesn’t have to be a work of art just honest content. It goes a long way. Try to include a link to your website where the context allows it using anchor text where possible but limit it to 3 links per post. Blog posting is effective and has the potential to send hundreds of visitors each week with only a few well written comments and some subtle links.

4. Join Twitter and Facebook. If you’ve read my last 2 articles you will see I really rate Twitter and so should you! It can bring a ton of traffic your way.

5. Use social bookmarking websites such as delicious.com, digg.com or furl.com to “bookmark” your website and/or blog posts. This greatly increases the chances of google and other search engine robots indexing your site and content much quicker. The mentioned sites are always being crawled by the search engine robots much more often than your site…so use this to your advantage. Direct them to your fresh new content.

6. Yahoo Answers is another good source of  human traffic and links. And i say human because Yahoo Answers is also No Follow. Make sure to not come across spammy. People that use Yahoo answers are right into it. they love it and will report a spammer in an instant. So make sure your questions and answers and genuinely helpful and you can’t go wrong.

7. Offer something of good value for free to your visitors or newsletter subscribers. You can see I’ve done this with the great Twitter book on offer on the right hand side of this website. 8. Use the great power of article directory submissions. This is another great viral marketing tool that has the potential of generating more and more incoming links towards your website as the articles you submitted get republished on blogs and websites. You may want to register with some ezines and directories to submit your article for inclusion such as EzineArticles.com. Don’t forget to always include 2 links in the bio box never the article itself otherwise many sites won’t publish it.
